Features

Your real identity stays out of it, inboxes expire on their own, forwarding runs only once the destination agrees to it, and partners get custom domains - what TempMail gives you.

  • Your real identity stays out of it

Use a temporary address for OTP codes, app testing, and forum registrations without exposing your primary inbox to spam.

  • Expires on its own

Every inbox has a lifetime. When it ends, the address stops receiving mail and you lose access to it. What it received is kept for administrative audit and removed when storage requires it.

  • Forwarding the destination agrees to

Forward incoming mail to another address, set up from the inbox. Nothing is forwarded until whoever holds that address opens a confirmation link we email to it.

  • Custom domains for partners

Partners can run temporary email on their own domains and manage the accounts from a separate portal.

  • Secure rendering

HTML is sanitised, remote images are blocked by default, and one-time codes are surfaced without opening the message body.

  • Partner and integration API

For partners and internal integrations: provision addresses and read messages over a documented REST interface. Access is arranged with us - there is no self-service public key.

What this is for

TempMail is built for everyday work that needs an email address but has no business using your real one: OTP verification, signing up to download something, testing the registration flow of an app you're building, or trying a service you may never touch again.

Random or custom alias

Random mode prepares a username and password for you. Both stay visible and copyable before the account is created, so you can keep them if you want to reopen the same inbox later.

Custom mode gives you full control: set your own alias and a password plus its confirmation.

Forwarding the destination agrees to

From inside the inbox you can forward incoming mail to another address - up to 3 destinations for one inbox. Forwarding is not set up while the account is being created; it is set up afterwards, on the inbox page.

Every new destination has to be confirmed first by whoever holds that address. We email one single-use link there, and until it is opened not one message is forwarded. That is what stops this service being used to flood somebody else's mailbox.

What gets forwarded is a readable copy of the message - the sender, the subject, the plain-text body, and the names of any attachments. The attachments themselves are not forwarded and stay in the temporary inbox, and a long body is trimmed. You can turn a destination off at any time without losing its confirmation.

Expires on its own

Every account has a lifetime set by the administrator, 168 hours by default. When its lifetime ends, the address stops receiving mail and you lose access to it. The messages and attachments it received are kept for administrative audit and are removed when storage requires it. You can still delete your own messages or your mailbox before it expires.

Custom domains for partners

Partners can register their own domains, manage the email accounts under them, and see usage statistics from a separate portal. A partner's accounts are never mixed with public accounts or with another partner's.
